Brunson, South Carolina Catherine Ann Kinard Heape 1937 — 2022 Mrs. Catherine Ann Kinard Heape, 84, wife of the late Homer Heape, of McMillan Road in Brunson, passed away Friday evening, October 21, 2022 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Heape was born November 5, 1937 in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Joe Duncan Kinard and Ethel Breland Kinard. She worked in the Cafeteria at Brunson Elementary School until her retirement, and was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church. Surviving are: Her son, William Heape of Hampton; grandson: Justin W. Heape of Hampton; two brothers: W. Dennis Kinard (Nancy) of Walterboro, Charles Delo Kinard (Martha) of Knoxville; and a sister: Helen Kinard of Walterboro, along with many nieces and nephews. She was the widow of Marion Wilson DeLoache Sr., the love of her life and was married March 11, 1939. Born in Lena August 22, 1920, she was the daughter of Guy Hoyt Crapse and Bena Long Crapse. Mrs. DeLoache graduated from Estill High School in 1937 and was employed as a Telephone Operator, and Bookkeeper, and had worked with her sister Lillian Thomas at Hampton Furniture and Gas Company until her mid-90s. He had retired from the Tool and Die Department at Westinghouse, and later along with his wife owned and operated Polk's Grocery Store in Frog Hollow near Varnville.
